Last year in July, T-series head honcho Bhushan Kumar had planned to launch his younger sister Khushali Kumar in Bollywood.
Titled ‘Dahi Cheeni’, the slice-of-life comedy co-starred R Madhavan. However, sadly the film is shelved. But there’s good news too!
While Dahi Cheeni may have been scrapped, the Khushali-R Madhavan romantic pairing is still on and they will soon be seen in another film for her debut.
A source told Peeping Moon, “Dahi Cheeni was stopped after the film’s final script didn’t materialize as envisioned. Bhushan Kumar wants the best for his sister’s debut and hence scrapped Dahi Cheeni after he found it going to a different route altogether. He has now planned a different film with the same cast but with a different direction team.”
About the new film – it is titled ‘Dhoka’ and even the genre has been changed to suspense thriller instead of comedy. Along with Khushali Kumar (who will essay a grey character) and R Madhavan, the project will also feature Aparshakti Khurrana prominently.
Directed by Kookie Gulati, the project will take off come January 2021 in Mumbai.
While Khushali is busy prepping for her debut, R Madhavan is currently filming for his Netflix series, ‘Decoupled’.
