Binny And Family Movie Review; Anjini Dhawan Debuts In A Heartwarming, Coming-of-Age Drama!

Storyline:
Binny (Anjini Dhawan) is a headstrong, rebellious teenager living in London who does not see eye-to-eye with her conservative grandfather (Pankaj Kapur) who hails from Bihar.
Nevertheless, she and her parents (Charu Shankar, Rajesh Kumar) make adjustments and mould themselves to fit the ideal sanskari image every time the grandparents decide to pay a visit.
But will this goody-goody facade fall away when the grandparents’ visit might be extended for more than 2 months? Can this dramatic generational gap be bridged?

Binny And Family Movie Review:
Binny And Family is a heartwarming, feel-good, family-friendly film in spite of being fairly predictable. It does a good job of portraying the awkwardness of the generation gap yet how the two opposites of the spectrum are still willing to try and learn from each other.
The film is slow in the 1st half and loses steam in the middle, and some sequences are stretched. But the 2nd half makes up for it.
Anjini Dhawan makes a confident debut and manages to hold her own in scenes with Pankaj Kapur fairly well. There is genuine warmth and camaraderie between the two in the 2nd half. Her character growth from an unlikable, privileged brat to an understanding granddaughter is etched out well. In the climax, Anjini gets a peak emotional scene in which she is convincingly moving.
Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur absolutely owns every scene he is in with his stern but lovable Grandpa act. He elevates the film to another level with his seasoned performance.
Rajesh Kumar and Charu Shankar are fantastic as the supporting cast. Naman Tripathy who plays Binny’s best-friend leaves an endearing impression. Himani Shivpuri appears for a limited time but wins hearts.
Head out to cinemas if you’re in the mood for some slice-of-life, family-friendly drama!
