Storyline:
Bhaijaan (Salman) who has raised 3 orphans all on his own – is still a bachelor. The trio of Ishq (Raghav Juyal), Moh (Jassie Gill) and Luv (Siddharth Nigam) has grown up and found love but they’re hesitant about marrying their girlfriends (played by Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari, Vinali Bhatnagar) since their beloved Bhaijaan is eternally single.
Enter Bhagyalaxmi (Pooja Hegde) the ideal Bhabhi candidate apparently. However, Bhaijaan is a bit of a vigilante-cum-gunda while Bhagya’s brother Annayya Gundamaneni (Venkatesh) is sworn to a life of non-violence.
But the Gundamaneni family is the target of a vengeful gangster (Jagapathi Babu) so looks like Bhaijaan’s self-defence wale violent skills might come in handy!
What Do We Think:
This Farhad Samji directorial is so bad it is almost good in its silliness. Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ke Liye Jaan Leva CRINGE!
It is exactly what you expected it to be from the trailer – hella OTT massy action, lame cringe-filled dialogues, Bhaijaan’s extraordinarily awkward, gravity-defying dance moves and his Loreal Paris hair whipping about… and SO.MANY.SONGS. Anyone who went in watching the trailer knew just what they were getting themselves into. This is one of those movies that you don’t binge but cringe-watch.
The story starts off on a sort of 10 Things I Hate About You note – wherein Bhaijaan’s brothers try to hook him up with Pooja Hegde’s Bhagya so that they are free to marry their sweethearts. Most of the 1st half continues thus. 2nd half – it’s all about the dishoom dishoom, neck-breaking fighting.
The story is largely silly with a few half-hearted chuckle-worthy moments by Satish Kaushik, a sprinkle of nostalgia with Bhagyashree’s brief cameo and oh, Ram Charan also appears for a fun dance song.
All the girls are just in flowerpot roles – with Pooja Hegde getting more screen time but it is still a very vapid performance. Shehnaaz, Palak, Vinali and even the young boys’ gang are just existing in the background because it is a Bhaijaan show through-and-through. They look pretty and cute, but that’s about it.
Pooja-Bhaijaan have super awkward chemistry largely because of the glaring 25-year age difference. Salman exudes a comfortable swag but at one point the dancing is just hilariously bad. You almost feel bad for Bhaijaan’s knees. The paper-thin, predictable story feels filled to the brim, especially with endless filler fluff songs.
Salman in his mass avatar is meant to snatch your wig off but unfortunately, you kind of want to snatch his instead.
Hit Or Miss:
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan may appeal to massy action film lovers and hardcore Bhai fans. It is family-friendly and a festive Eid offering though – catch it in the theatres near you.
