Pushpa 2 Movie Review:

Pushpa 2 is a Paisa Vasool action spectacle! Allu Arjun’s sheer energy and charisma carry the film though some sequences are unnecessarily stretched. The sequel boasts bigger and more ambitious action set pieces, exceeding the mass appeal of its predecessor. Allu Arjun is at his fiercest in the titular role, combining raw physicality with emotional depth.

His portrayal of Pushpa’s vulnerabilities is compelling, adding layers to the otherwise larger-than-life character. One standout moment is his Maa Kaali-inspired dance performance, where he channels emotion, ferocity and passion skillfully into the piece. A true goosebumps-inducing scene!

Rashmika Mandanna gets her moments to shine, particularly in emotionally charged scenes where her restrained intensity impresses.

The face-off between Fahadh Faasil and Allu Arjun’s characters is absolutely fun to watch. Both actors bring unmatched energy to their rivalry, making their scenes together thoroughly engaging. However, Fahadh’s character arc feels underwhelming with an unsatisfying conclusion that undermines the potential of his role.

While Pushpa 2 is an entertaining ride from start-to-finish, the double climax is an overkill. The film should have naturally concluded at the ‘Kissik‘ song, but the melodrama that ensues after the track drags the 2nd half unnecessarily. A tighter edit could have shaved off 15-20 minutes without compromising the impact.

The soundtrack is a mixed bag. While ‘Sooseki‘ and the Maa Kaali dance sequence preceding it is electric and unforgettable, other songs like ‘Peelings‘ and ‘Kissik‘ fall flat and verge on cringeworthy.

Despite its flaws, Pushpa 2 is an actioner best enjoyed on the big screen. It delivers enough massy, whistle-worthy moments to keep the audience hooked, and with a tantalizing hint at Pushpa 3, fans have even more to look forward to!
