I Want To Talk Movie Review; Abhishek Bachchan Gets Raw And Real But The Drama Feels Hollow

Rating: 3/5

Storyline:

Seemingly cold and calculating marketing expert Arjun Sen’s (Abhishek Bachchan) life takes a sudden, dark turn when he gets diagnosed with cancer.

Faced with an arduous battle against the disease, Arjun’s sheer resilience and stubborn willpower is simply astonishing. On top of it, as a single parent, he also has to navigate a complicated relationship with his daughter Reya (Ahilya Bamroo), trying to reconcile their differences.

I Want To Talk Movie Review:

Abhishek Bachchan starrer I Want To Talk Movie Review

Abhishek Bachchan gives his best in ‘I Want To Talk‘ and he isn’t afraid to get raw and real with it. He manages to make an unlikable character quite endearing. It is a commendable performance on his part.

This Shoojit Sircar directorial is rather slowburn – and though it has its poignant and introspective moments, emotionally it still rings hollow. Maybe the monotony is intended to drive home the sense of bleakness, but the repetitive scenes fail to engage you after a point. The profundity gives way to tedium instead.

Johnny Lever manages to infuse some levity in the somber drama. Ahilya Bamroo is an extremely natural and confident performer and holds her own against Bachchan.

Overall, I Want To Talk is packed with interesting, well-acted performances but is bogged down by its exhausting pacing.
