The horror-comedy Stree 2, led by Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, continues to dominate the box office, reaching impressive milestones.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film completed its eight-day run on Thursday, August 22, and has grossed over ₹428 crore globally. In India alone, the film has surpassed ₹300 crore.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that by Wednesday, Stree 2 had earned ₹289.60 crore, maintaining strong momentum even on weekdays. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film added ₹16 crore on Thursday, bringing its total earnings in India to ₹305.6 crore.
On the global front, Stree 2 has crossed the ₹400 crore mark, with Maddock Films announcing that it grossed ₹363 crore domestically and ₹64.5crore internationally within seven days, totaling ₹401 crore. By Thursday, this figure had climbed to approximately ₹417 crore.
The sequel to 2018’s Stree, Stree 2 has set a record as the fastest Bollywood film to reach ₹400 crore, surpassing previous blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
This success also marks Shraddha Kapoor’s highest-grossing film, overtaking her previous best, Saaho (2019). Additionally, Stree 2 now stands as the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, just behind Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
With no significant competition on the horizon, Stree 2 is expected to continue its box office dominance.
