Stree 2 Movie Review:
Stree 2 makes for a fun, light-hearted, timepass watch. It will undoubtedly emerge as the audience’s favourite for this long weekend. While the sequel holds up reasonably well, the 1st movie had a better structured and cohesive plot.

Stree 2 takes too long for the set-up and fumbles in the middle with an awkwardly integrated hospital scene. The new monster – Sarkata introduced into this universe is genuinely creepy only in the entry scenes. The horror factor wears off pretty soon. After a point, some scenes start feeling overstretched, repetitive and lose their jumpscare value.
This horror-comedy does hit its stride in the 2nd half. The gang’s natural chemistry is top-notch and fun banter keep things flowing smoothly. The performances are competent but the comedy could have had more punch to it. The humour feels forced in some moments, whereas it was more organic in the first film. Nevertheless, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana are extremely fun, hilarious and convincing as a team.
Shraddha Kapoor steals the show with her expressive eyes and intriguing aura. She gets some meaty action sequences in the climax as well. The final battle is tad bit overdramatic. But kudos for maintaining the mystery around Shraddha’s character.
Stree 2 Movie Review:
Varun Dhawan as Bhediya makes a pivotal cameo. A Big Superstar has joined this film with a special appearance. His inclusion into the plot elicits a few chuckles but is done clumsily. Let’s hope this horror-comedy universe is not going the Marvel route of having to rely majorly on cameos to make an impact.
Speaking of cameos and post-credits, Stree 2 has TWO songs stuffed into its post-credit scenes. It’s honestly an overkill. While the first part had really fun songs, the soundtrack of Stree 2 feels pretty generic and barring Aaji Ki Raat and Aayi Nai, lacks the oomph factor.
Stree 2 is no doubt engaging, but it could’ve benefitted from some better-written comedy and a more cohesive narrative.
