Kartik Aaryan Undergoes Rigorous Training For Chandu Champion:

The motivational song Sarphira from Chandu Champion shows a BTS montage of Kartik Aaryan, undergoing a gruelling training to prepare for this power-packed role. The film is largely inspired by the life of India’s first paralympics swimmer Murlikant Petkar. Kartik is assuming this meaty, titular role.

Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan (who’s also helmed this film), Chandu Champion is set for a June 14, 2024 release, and is poised to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Who Is Chandu Champion Based On? Read About Murlikant Petkar

Murlikant Petkar was India’s first Paralympic gold medalist! He started off as a member of the Indian Army but he got disabled after getting badly injured in the 1965 war against Pakistan. Before his injury, he had been a boxer too, but due to his disability, he switched to tennis and even cleared the 1st round in the 1968 summer Paralympics.

Later, he got into swimming and in 1972 he bagged India’s first-ever Paralympic gold medal for the 50 m freestyle swimming. Murlikant Petkar had set a world record at that time with his impressive timing of 37.33 seconds!

Chandu Champion’s Trivia:

Kartik has filmed an 8-minute long single-shot war scene in this film! Kudos to the dedicated actor! He gave special attention to his language in the film. Aaryan worked on his Marathi dialect for 14 long months. He had a language coach throughout who helped him to grab a good hold of his Marathi language.

Chandu Champion has explored different beautiful locations from around the world to make it a masterpiece. Starting from the United Kingdom (UK) to Kashmir to WAI village in Maharashtra, the film has captured different locations of the world.
