Storyline:
Ram Charan Tripathi (Manoj Bajpayee) is devastated to know that his younger brother has been brutally murdered after a tiff with a politician’s bratty son.
The spoilt son – Abhimanyu (Jatin Goswami) is used to getting his way, with his powerful father Chandrabhan Singh (Suvinder Vicky) buying him out of trouble every time. But this time, the father-son duo have clashed horns with the wrong beast.
For Ram Charan is none other than the fearsome Bhaiyya Ji; whose name is revered for the destruction he causes! Though he has sworn off violence to honour his late father, Bhaiyya Ji is ready to take up arms to avenge his brother’s murder.
Watch Bhaiyya Ji...to see how he unleashes a bloodbath in his wake as he goes on a rampage, destroying his enemies! Even Bhaiyya Ji’s wife-to-be Mithali (Zoya Hussain) is more than just a demure lady, and has some cool tricks up her sleeve.
Bhaiyya Ji Movie Review:
Bhaiyya Ji aims to be this larger-than-life, massy action drama but fails to provide the spectacle it promises.
The humour is a hit and miss in this film, and the melodrama feels too overwrought to evoke any genuine emotion. The plot is predictable and the treatment given to it, even more so.
Manoj Bajpayee is clearly having the time of his life playing this larger-than-life character of a gangster. He brings the intensity needed for the role, but is let down by both the writing and the action. But even Manoj Bajpayee alone cannot save this movie.
Bhaiyya Ji Movie Review:
The pacing makes one restless, as the exaggerated melodrama in this revenge saga stretches the set-up way past its welcome, taking its own sweet time to get to the good stuff. The 2nd half is marginally better than the first half, though the climax is an overkill.
Barring a few, cool, effective fight sequences – the action seems loud, overinflated yet unexciting in Bhaiyya Ji. It suffers from an abundance of gratuitous slow-mo shots that look foolish instead of badass as intended.
Zoya Hussain is effective in her role, and balances the emotions with some rough n tough action. She gets to show off her physical prowess with some slick, hand-to-hand combat sequences.
Suvinder Vicky gives a decent performance as the menacing politician. Jatin Goswami as the sneering, bratty son is competent in his role. Acting-wise, there are no complaints against the cast.
