Main Ladega Movie Review:
Main Ladega is a hard-hitting, raw and real emotional drama, packed with some well-choreographed action. It’s the classic underdog champion’s tale, and while the plot is formulaic as it gets, it is given quite a sincere treatment here.
Akash Pratap Singh has clearly poured his soul into the project – having both written as well as headlined this boxing drama. The writing though amateurish, has a lot of heart to it. The pacing is engaging, offering an adequate blend of drama and action. There are quite a few tearjerker moments that will leave one with a lump in their throat. The protective mother-son dynamic forms the heart of the movie, making it resonate well emotionally.

Main Ladega Movie Review:
Akash gives an earnest performance as the shy-kid-turned-boxer, channelling the perseverance, fierceness, helplessness and vulnerability of his character. His physical transformation for the role is commendable as well! The young star has acted naturally and is competent in the action scenes.
Gandharv Dewan who plays the stern, no-nonsense coach to Akash’s character is another solid performer. Akash is well supported by a bunch of hilarious characters played by Ahan Nirban and Divya Kharnare who infuse it with a much-needed dose of comedy.
Seasoned actors like Ashwath Bhatt, who plays the abusive father and Jyoti – the battered mother who is a victim of brutal domestic violence, elevate the cast with their dependable performances. While the love story with Vallari Viraj is cute, it breaks the momentum of the film a little bit.
Overall, Main Ladega is a classic underdog story that has a few twists up its sleeve that do manage to surprise you. It works mostly because the emotional core of the film is built up strong, complemented by steady action in the 2nd half.
