Kunal Kemmu’s directorial debut, Madgaon Express, starring Pratik Gandhi, Divyendu Sharma, and Avinash Tiwary continues its journey at the box office.
The comedy-drama, released on March 22nd, has garnered mixed reviews but managed to maintain a steady showing in its first week.
As of reports, the film has collected an estimated ₹14.88 crore net in India. The opening day saw a collection of ₹1.63 crore, followed by a gradual increase over the weekend, reaching ₹7.16 crore. However, a dip was observed during the weekdays, with collections settling around ₹0.85 lakh on its eighth day.
The growth is subdued and impacted due to the new arrivals of Crew and Godzilla in theaters which is giving a strong competition.
While not a blockbuster, Madgaon Express seems to have found some appreciation from its target audience, particularly the youth. The film stars Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary as childhood friends who embark on a wild Goa trip. Nora Fatehi, Chhaya Kadam, and Remo D’Souza appear in supporting roles.
Whether it can maintain this momentum and reach the coveted ₹20 crore mark remains to be seen.
