The weekend witnessed a clash at the box office between Yami Gautam political thriller Article 370 and Vidyut Jammwal action flick Crakk.
While both films opened on 23rd February, Article 370 managed to secure a stronger hold over the audience. Let’s see the box office collection of these two movies.
Article 370:
Article 370 grossed an estimated ₹25.45 crore net at the domestic box office across its first three days, as reported by industry trackers. The film saw a steady growth, starting with ₹6.12 crore on Friday, followed by ₹9.8 crore on Saturday, and culminating in ₹10.25 crore on Sunday.
In comparison, “Crakk” garnered a total of ₹8.81 crore net over the same weekend. Opening with ₹4.11 crore on Friday, the film, unfortunately, saw a decline in collections, bringing in ₹2.3 crore and ₹2.4 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
While both films catered to different genres, Article 370 appears to have resonated better with audiences based on its first-weekend performance. However, it’s important to note that these are early indicators, and the films’ fate in the long run will depend on factors like word-of-mouth, critical reception, and weekday performance.
