Several media outlets reported that director Farhan Akhtar first approached Ranbir after Shah Rukh Khan opted out due to script concerns. However, an insider source has claimed that these reports are fake.
Furthermore, neither Ranbir Kapoor nor his representatives have issued any statements confirming or denying their involvement in “Don 3” discussions.
