As the conversations flow between them along with wine, certain things come to light – about Albert’s ex-girlfriend Rosie (Radhika Apte) and even Maria’s partner.

Merry Christmas Movie Review:
This Sriram Raghavan directorial is different from his previous ones. Merry Christmas is a rather slow-burn movie. It takes its own sweet time in setting up things.
So much so that it takes till the interval block to actually get the pace to pick up. But despite its languid pace, Merry Christmas doesn’t feel boring in the 1st half. There is anticipation in the air and plenty of hints sprinkled in the cosy conversations shared by Katrina and Vijay. And something rather telling about the sleek yet furtive gait of Katrina’s Maria.
Merry Christmas Movie Review:
Once the 2nd half starts, things start getting rapidly interesting as a hilarious Sanjay Kapoor enters the messed-up situation. He’s charming, goofy and silly but perfect in the limited role he has. Radhika Apte also makes a brief, yet impactful cameo appearance.
The way the plot unravels in the 2nd half may be appealing to some but also seem ludicrous to others. This reviewer falls in the latter half. That being said, the climax sequence is darkly funny, sharp and tense and makes a truly mystifying ending.
Vinay Pathak as the cop adds on to the comic relief in the film and is a stellar performer. The chemistry between Vijay Sethupathi-Katrina Kaif feels very authentic and smooth. Sethupathi is in top form as always.
Merry Christmas Movie Review:
Katrina Kaif has that elusive, charismatic and haunted air about her. There is a certain superficiality in her performance but instead of hindering her acting, it instead helps sell the duplicity of her character.
Overall, Merry Christmas is an engaging neo-noir thriller. The way the main act unravels might seem half-baked and improbable to some but to each their own!
