Mission Raniganj movie is based on the 1989 collapse of the Raniganj Coalfields in West Bengal where mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill’s bravery saved the lives of 65 miners who were trapped in the coalfield.
Akshay Kumar plays the titular role of real-life hero Jaswant Singh Gill and Parineeti Chopra plays the character of Nirdosh Kaur Gill, the wife of Jaswant Singh Gill in the biographical drama Mission Raniganj.
As per reports, Akshay Kumar has received Rs 110 crore for playing the lead in Mission Ranigan while National Award-winning actress Parineeti Chopra received Rs 3 crore for her performance in the movie.
Apart from Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, the movie also stars Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, and Varun Badola in lead roles.
Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan, who plays the role of Bhola in the biographical drama, received a payment of Rs 55 lakhs. Kumud Mishra and Rajesh Sharma, who also essay significant roles in the film, charged Rs 30 lakhs and Rs 25 lakhs, respectively, for their performances.
Actors Pawan Malhotra and Varun Badola earned Rs 15 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs, respectively, for their role in Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Raniganj.
Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Mission Raniganj is facing competition from Bhumi Pednekar starrer Thank You For Coming, the horror drama titled The Exorcist: Believer, and the romantic drama, titled Dono.
