Jigra | Movie Announcement | Karan Johar | Alia Bhatt | Watch Video –
Alia Bhatt is all set to be a producer for the second time and this time it’s special because it is in collaboration with her mentor, Karan Johar for their next – Jigra movie.
Directed by Vasan Bala (Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Monica, O My Darling fame), Jigra stars Alia Bhatt in the lead and will be produced by Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions.

On Tuesday (September 26), the actress shared the announcement video and captioned it –
“Presenting #Jigra, directed by the extremely talented @vasanbala and produced by @dharmamovies & @eternalsunshineproduction. From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started. Every day is a different day… exciting, challenging (and a little scary)… not just as an actor but also as a producer as we bring this film to life, and I CANNOT wait to share more as we move forward.”
In the video, Alia’s voiceover is heard in the background saying – “Dekh, dekh mujhe. Meri rakhi pehenta hai na tu, tu meri protection mein hai. Tujhe main kuch nahi hone dungi, kabhi bhi.” (Look at me, you are wearing my rakhi, you are in my protection. I will not let anything happen to you, ever).
Jigra marks Alia’s 12th collaboration with KJo’s Dharma Productions. The action-thriller is a prison break story and as per the announcement video, it seems to be a tale of a sister’s love for her brother and how far she can go to protect him.
Earlier in July this year, a source had told Pinkvilla –

Alia will be seen playing one of the most challenging roles of her career in this movie, and she is excited to go on this new adventure and explore a genre she hasn’t attempted before. Bala has written a cracking jailbreak story, and people who are aware of this project are already excited about it. This is going to be a heck of an interesting movie.”
