About Khufiya:
Khufiya Trailer out! Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Khufiya starring Tabu in the lead, is based on Amar Bhushan’s espionage novel Escape to Nowhere. For the unversed, Amar Bhushan is the former chief of the counter-espionage unit of India.
Khufiya allegedly revolves around the story of a RAW operative Krishna Mehra, who is tasked with a crucial mission of national importance that leaves her struggling between her dual identity as a spy and a lover.
Khufiya Trailer:
Tabu plays the RAW agent Krishna who’s closely observing Ali Fazal’s character in the film. He seems to be under the radar as the mole in the agency and even his wife (played by Wamiqa Gabbi) is being scrutinised closely. But is everything as it seems? Is he truly the traitor or the patriot?
Khufiya Release Date:
It will be arriving on Netflix on 5th October 2023.
An interesting trivia about Khufiya – Vishal Bhardwaj had previously revealed that he had changed the gender of the main character, just so Tabu could work on the film! For the unversed, Vishal Bhardwaj and her have previously worked together for Haider and Maqbool. She also featured in his son Aasman Bhardwaj’s debut directorial Kuttey.
“I have changed the gender of the character for her. The character was male but it was not that exciting for me. When I thought of Tabu, the excitement was more and I changed the gender of the character. I found a reason to work with her and I got that.The entire team has worked very hard to create a suspenseful, slow-burning thriller, and with Netflix, we are thrilled to present the film to audiences globally,” Bhardwaj commented.
Tabu said, “I am so happy to be once again working with my favourite director Vishal Bhardwaj as we reunite for the third time after Haider and Maqbool. Vishal’s unique vision and storytelling have always intrigued me, and Khufiya is no exception.”
