After the grand success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol Border 2 movie is in the making?
As per latest buzz, the 65-year-old actor is planning revive the sequel of the 1997 blockbuster war drama.
According to a Pinkvilla report, Sunny Deol is set to reunite with Border director and co-producer JP Dutta for the sequel. Border 2 is likely to bring a story from the 1971 Indo-Pak war which is yet-to-be-told.
Reportedly, the makers were in discussion for Border sequel for the last 2-3 years. The producers are expected to make an official announcement very soon.
“Border is among the most historic blockbusters of Indian Cinema and is easily a film that warrants a part two. The team has been discussing the probability of making a Border sequel for the last 2 to 3 years and everything has now finally fallen into place as the team is all set to make an official announcement of Border 2 in a fortnight. The team has identified a tale from the 1971 Indo-Pak war that is yet not told on the big screen and are all charged up to bring it to the spectacle.”

JP Dutta and her daughter Nidhi Dutta, who are likely to bankroll the project, are in advance talks with a top studio to back this film.
“They are in advanced talks to partner with a top studio for Border 2 and an official announcement of the film and the collaboration is around the corner. While the story has already been identified from the history of the Indian Army, the writing process will begin soon.”

As per reports, the makers will retain Sunny Deol’s character from the first part and he will be supported by actors from the younger generation. Sunny played the role of Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri in Border.
“Being a heavy-on action film, the team will be casting actors from the younger generation rather than bringing together the entire troop of Border. Sunny Deol will probably be the only actor from Border, who will be a part of Border 2 as well. It’s all in the early stages at the moment and more updates shall come our way once the film is officially announced very soon.”

Set against the backdrop of battle of Longewella from the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Border had also featured Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff and Akshaye Khanna among others.
Meanwhile, Suny Deol is currently basking in the glorious success of Gadar 2. The movie has crossed Rs 300 crores at the domestic box office in just 8 days.
