Taapsee Pannnu, who is celebrating her 36th birthday today, has wowed us with her ace performance in films like Pink, Thappad, Badla and many more.
Recalling her early days, the actress revealed that she was once rejected by a ‘big’ designer for an ad shoot.
Before trying her hand in acting, Taapsee started off as a model during her college days as she wanted to be independent. Taapsee was in her second year of engineering when her mother helped her to make a portfolio by contributing Rs 40,000 from her savings.
Talking about her modelling days, the actress reportedly recalled the time when she was rejected by designer Satya Paul for a saree ad shoot. Taapsee revealed that the label had felt she was apparently too young to be their saree model.

When she asked if she had featured in a saree ad, she said –
“Actually my first… it was a shoot for a big designer. I was rejected for a saree ad for them. I can (name them) actually now. It was a catalogue shoot for Satya Paul. They needed a model for their sarees. It wasn’t even a month since I got my portfolio. I had just started my second year and they felt I was too young for a sari model. They wanted someone, who looks like a woman.”
On the work front, Taapsee Pannu will be seen with Shah Rukh Khan in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. She also has Khel Khel Mein with Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor, Haseen Dillruba sequel – Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba with Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal.
