Huma Qureshi has opened up several times about the body-shaming and bullying that she faced during the beginning of her career.
As Huma Qureshi turns 37 today, let’s take a look at the rejections she faced due to her weight.
As per reports, Huma opened up about being rejected for a film due to her weight. While talking about her movie ‘Double XL’ she said, “This movie started as a fun conversation with my friends and family-we were all in my living room, and all the actors were complaining about the ‘post lockdown weight gain’ and Mudassar Aziz wrote a story around it.”
“I got rejected due to weight and in a review of my film, someone wrote, ‘Huma adds too much weight to be a mainstream leading lady,” Huma added. She shared that she resonates with every woman who has been let down by their looks, size, or colour.
Huma made her film debut with a supporting role in the two-part 2012 crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur.
