Arshad Warsi is currently riding high on success after his recently released web series, Asur 2.
While fans are waiting for the third installment of the Munna Bhai franchise, the actor has expressed his uncertainty about the film.
Sanjay Dutt-Arshad Warsi starrer Munna Bhai series, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is one of the most successful franchises of Bollywood. The first part, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, was released in 2003, followed by Lage Raho Munna Bhai in 2006.
During his recent interview with India Today, Arshad revealed that Munna Bhai 3 ‘may not happen.’ He also added that at this point, he wasn’t even sure.
“Munna Bhai [3] may not happen,” Arshad said even before the question was completed. He added, “This is the weirdest thing. We have a director who wants to make it, a producer who wants to produce it, an audience who wants to see it, actors who want to act in it and still it is not happening.”
– says Arshad.
When he was asked about the reason behind the delay, he explained that Hirani is a perfectionist and this is why the film is taking much longer than usual.
“The thing is, Raju [Hirani] is insanely perfectionist. He has 3 scripts which are brilliant but there are some glitches. So, till the time he is not 100-200 per cent sure of the script, he won’t start it. When you ask him, he will always say yes, never says no. He will say ‘main kar raha ho.. ek baar script fix ho jaaye na, mujhe yeh pasand nahi woh pasand nahi’. Once he crosses that stage, he will start.”
After the two successful movies, fans were eagerly waiting for the third part of the much-loved franchise. However, this update might leave fans upset.
