Meanwhile, Sumair’s colleague Aditi (Diana Penty) is suspicious of him and she gets to know the location of the bag’s hideout after tailing him. What Do We Think:

Shahid Kapoor delivers this John Wick-esque role flawlessly in Bloody Daddy. Shahid Kapoor as the titular Bloody Daddy carries all the shades – from being an irresponsible, reckless father, and a shrewd cop to a brooding, menacing and livid protector for his son.

Bloody Daddy Movie Review

The story takes place over a single night – Bloody Daddy has taut, engaging screenplay, stylish, fast-paced action with well-choreographed sequences which are the main highlight of the movie.

Bloody Daddy has an abundance of those badass, cool action shots and the music in the background complements it quite well. In fact, the contrast between the sleek, rap music and the high-octane, crisp action scenes is thrilling.

Bloody Daddy Movie Review

But the emotional touch in the film seems hollow given the significance of the title Bloody Daddy! On paper, it sounds compelling, but the emotional dynamic between father-son isn’t that profound on screen.

Shahid Kapoor excels in this action-hero mode. He is a total badass in the action scenes (especially the close combat ones), has good comic timing when required and conveys his character’s fierce, protective streak well.

Diana Penty is convincing as the do-gooder cop who completely turns the game on its head in one rookie mistake. But she’s held back by limited screen time. Rajeev Khandelwal is stellar as the crafty, amoral cop playing from the sidelines and delivers well in the face-off sequences with Shahid. It makes for an entertaining duel indeed.

Ronit Roy and Sanjay Kapoor as the drug lords come across as funny rather than villainous, too obsessed with their Gucci jackets.

Overall, Bloody Daddy is an entertaining actioner with quite the potential for a sequel. It would have been marvellous to witness it on the big screen too – purely for the action.
