Apparently, Dharma Productions and Disney are taking a backseat from Brahmastra movies!
However, Disney will allegedly sell its director Ayan Mukerji the complete IP of the Brahmastra franchise. He is a part owner already.
JIO STUDIOS TO STEP IN?
Pinkvilla report says – Ayan is on the verge of cracking a huge, multi-crore deal with JIO Studios for the Astra-Verse!
Apart from Brahmastra 2 and 3, Ayan also has plans for various spin-off web series, independent feature films, and an animated cartoon for kids in his Brahmastra slate.
“Ayan will be the showrunner of the franchise, but the spin-offs will be commissioned to other filmmakers. The spin-offs for characters include Nandi Astra, Pawan Astra, and Gaj Astra for digital, whereas Jal Astra is expected to be made for the big screen,” a source told the portal.
If the deal ends up getting finalized – Brahmastra shall be backed by Jio Studios with Starlight Pictures and Astra Verse. 2nd part of Brahmastra is headed for Dec 2026 release while the 3rd will follow suit in Dec 2027.
Moreover, Ayan is also going to direct War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.
