Comedian Bharti Singh & her writer-husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa have landed in legal trouble again.
As per reports, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a chargesheet against the couple in a 2-year old drugs case.
According to ANI, the Mumbai NCB submitted a 200-page chargesheet against the couple before the Esplanade Magistrate court in connection with the 2020 drugs case.
Bharti & Haarsh were arrested by the NCB in November 2020 after the seizure of ganja (cannabis) from their house in suburban Andheri. They are currently out on bail.
NCB had said that 86.5 grams of cannabis was recovered from their house in a raid. Both Haarsh and Bharti had admitted to the consumption of ganja.
The two were booked under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) (involves small quantity of drugs), and 8(c) (possession of drugs) and 27 (consumption of drugs) of the NDPS Act.
As reported by India Today, the chargesheet, filed by the NCB, is under various sections of the NDPS Act – sections 27 related to consumption, 28 punishment for attempts to commit offenses and 29 punishment for abetment and criminal conspiracy, and 8 C related to product manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import inter State, export inter-State, import into India, export from India or tranship any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance, except for medical or scientific doses.
Earlier this year, the couple was blessed with a baby boy – Laksh Singh Limbachiya.
