Adivi Sesh starrer Major hit the theatres on 3rd June. Based on the awe-inspiring life of 26/11 hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the patriotic actioner is thriving at the box office!
Now, if you’re wondering if it’s worth watching, then HELL YEAH. Book the tickets ASAP. Here Are 5 Reasons Why Major Is A Must-WATCH In The Theatres –
To begin with, I’ve already watched the movie TWICE in the cinemas and cried like a baby at the climax. Major has proven to be a perfect combo of thrills, chills and FEELS!
1) Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s Sacrifice
The 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai were some of India’s darkest hours. It was the braveheart Sandeep Unnikrishnan who led the 51 Special Action Group’s operation to flush out the terrorists and rescue the hostages at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
His actions contributed in saving 137 lives; out of which, he rescued 14 hostages directly! The story of the martyr’s sacrifice deserves to be witnessed and solemnly cherished!
2) Major Writer/Actor Adivi Sesh & His Bollywood Debut
Major is a pan-Indian film, shot in BOTH Telugu and Hindi, marking South actor Adivi Sesh’s Bollywood debut and we can safely say, here’s a DASHING HERO TO WATCH OUT FOR!
Also y’all…Adivi Sesh. In. Uniform!!!! The handsome hunk is a sight for sore eyes! All the swooning over his good looks and charming voice aside, did you know Sesh is also the writer for Major? He’s been receiving rave reviews for his performance and screenplay.
Moreover, Sesh is also starting a fund in the name of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan for CDS and NDA aspirants across the country!
Yaar, Ek hi dil hai kitni baar jitoge?

3) Thrilling Action & Goosebump-worthy Dialogues!
Major is patriotic without being jingoistic! It’s technically well-made, immersive and executed with such BADASSERY! It boasts of some enthralling, high-octane action set pieces that will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially in the 2nd half. (Bruh, I didn’t even finish my Nachos, I was too busy gawking at the screen)
It TOTALLY needs to be enjoyed on the big screen! (Brownie points to one such tense, nail-biter sequence featuring Sesh’s Goodachari co-star Sobhita Dhulipala)
Make sure you keep your tissues handy when witnessing Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s iconic LAST WORDS – ‘Don’t come up, I’ll handle them’.
Another hard-hitting dialogue that stayed with me, long after I left the theatre – ‘What does it mean to be a soldier? Iss sawaal ka jawaab nahi dia jaa sakta. Sirf jia jaa sakta hai.’
Y’all. GOOSEBUMPS.
4) Killer Soundtrack
Stop sleeping on the Major Soundtrack! It is sooo beautiful. Jana Gana Mana (Telugu Version) is an absolute banger and will make you hella PSYCHED with Can-Do Spirit!. (Add to your workout playlist. Or for motivation to nail those 3-am, panic-inducing assignment completion sessions)
Oh Isha (Hindi Version) is a cute, tooth-rottingly sweet, fluffy song that will make you wanna KICK A PILLOW.
And Hrudayama/Saathiya will truly tug at your heartstrings with its sweet yearning.
5) Cute AF & Bittersweet Love Story
Major is not only about that fateful, deadly night but also a wholesome look into the love and life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
Adivi Sesh and Saiee Manjrekar’s adorable chemistry will have you ‘AWWWING’ in the first half. But Major is also high on the emotional quotient, offering a heart-breaking glimpse of an army wife’s sacrifice and anguish!
Saiee gives an evocative performance as Sesh’s leading lady.
So, folks, itne fangirling ke baad… aap convince ho gaye ya mai aur bolu?
