On the special occasion of Republic Day, let’s look at some patriotic films releasing in 2022 that will surely pump up the adrenaline!
5 Upcoming Patriotic Bollywood Movies In 2022 –
1) Attack
Starring John Abraham in the lead, Attack is based on a rescue operation of a hostage crisis (inspired by real events).
The teaser shows John as an artificial intelligent super-soldier fighting terrorism, while Jacqueline Fernandez appears to be playing a flight attendant and Rakul Preet Singh is seen in a scientist-like getup.
Written and helmed by Lakshya Raj Anand, the film has been bankrolled by JA Entertainment, Ajay Kapoor and Jayantilal Gada. Attack is slated to release in cinemas on January 28, 2022. (Might be post-poned due to Covid-19)
2) Yodha
Sidharth Malhotra who won hearts with his last release, Shershaah, will next be seen in ‘Yodha’ backed by Karan Johar. The cast also includes Disha Patani and Raashi Khanna.
Yodha will revolve around an aeroplane hijack wherein a soldier helps the passengers fight against the terrorist. On November 11, 2022, the film will be released on the big screen.
3) Mission Majnu
Sidharth Malhotra has another actioner up his sleeve. The spy thriller Mission Majnu features the handsome hunk as a RAW agent undertaking a deadly, covert operation behind enemy lines (Pakistan).
The Shantanu Bagchi directorial marks the Bollywood debut of South star Rashmika Mandanna. It will be out in cinemas on 13 May 2022.
4) Major
Actor Adivi Sesh will soon be making his debut in the Hindi cinema with the pan-India film, ‘Major’ (releasing in Hindi and Telugu).
Adivi plays the lead role of late Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who sacrificed his life for the nation during the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai. The braveheart saved numerous hostages before getting martyred in the action at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
Major was scheduled to release in theatres on 11 February 2022 but has been postponed due to Covid.
5) Pippa
Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, the war drama Pippa features Ishaan Khatter in the lead along with Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan.
Based on the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, the film tells the story of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta. It’s inspired by the book ‘The Burning Chaffees’, written by Brigadier Mehta himself.
The film’s title has been derived from the war tank – PT-76, popularly known as Pippa. The actioner will show the heroic tank battle of Garibpur on screen, which eventually led to the liberation of Bangladesh.
Pippa will have a theatrical release – 9th December 2022.
