Shahid Kapoor & Mrunal Thakur starrer movie ‘Jersey’ is the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster of the same title.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who helmed the original as well, the Hindi version was slated to release in cinemas on December 31, 2021.
Now, we hear that the release of Shahid’s much-awaited film ‘Jersey’ has been postponed once again amid the rising Covid-19 cases and the fear of its new variant Omicron.
The makers have issued an official statement, which reads, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!”
Confirming the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh also revealed that the rumours regarding ‘Jersey’ having an OTT release are FALSE!
While theatres in Maharashtra are operating with 50% occupancy, the Delhi government has directed cinemas to shut down in the capital.
The ‘Jersey’ makers are yet to announce a new release date.
