On the other hand, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had garnered rave reviews for her performance in ‘The Family Man 2’ series.
Now, reports are doing rounds that Varun & Samantha are all set to pair up for a web series. According to a Pinkvilla report, Varun & Samantha will play the lead roles in the Indian spin-off of Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Citadel’ series.
Directed by The Family Man creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the action-packed spy series will reportedly stream on Amazon Prime Video. Varun & Samantha are said to be essaying the role of stylish spies in the series.
A source revealed to the portal, “It’s among the biggest shows that’s keenly awaited not just in India but even on an international front. The makers were on the lookout for a fresh pairing and that’s when they pulled off the coup of bringing Samantha alongside Varun for the first time.”
“The team is planning to mount it on a massive scale and get stunt coordinators of international repute on board. Both Varun and Samantha will do multiple workshops and training sessions to learn various forms of action next year before taking the series on floors,” the source added.
The series is expected to go on floors in 2022 and the Indian version will apparently not be a remake or an adaptation rather they plan on making it against the backdrop of Indian characters and taking it to a global stage.
