Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif are celebrating the happiest days of their lives after wedding each other in an intimate ceremony on the 9th of December.
But did you know that there was an unimaginable connection between both of them much before their love story began?
Director Aditya Dhar was supposed to make his Bollywood directorial debut with the romantic film ‘Raat Baaki‘. This film was initially supposed to star Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan in lead roles.
However, when the makers were supposed to take this movie on floors, the Uri attacks took place and the Indian government soon retaliated with surgical strikes. This also sadly led to Pakistani artists getting banned from working in India by the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA).
Dhar couldn’t help but stall ‘Raat Baaki’. But upon doing much research, the director changed his mind and started working on a new project, one of 2019’s biggest hits – ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. This film starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead and it turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of his career. The film earned around ₹338 Crores on the global box office charts and Vicky became a National superstar overnight.
So it’s probably safe to say Katrina’s loss was Vicky’s gain but it’s all good now as the two love birds are soon to move in together. In an interview, Aditya Dhar said, “My previous movie Raat Baaki with Fawad Khan and Katrina Kaif didn’t happen because the terrorist attacks took place and within the next few days, the surgical strike happened. Now, as filmmakers and in life, you have to turn all the disappointments into opportunities. You have to make the best of what you have in hand. While we were trying to figure out who to recast, I wanted to know more about the surgical strike because suddenly that sounded like a great story.”
Apparently, Aditya is working on ‘Raat Baaki’ as a producer and the film will now star his wife Yami Gautam and ‘Scam 1992’ star Pratik Gandhi in the leads.
