Storyline:
We have John Abraham in 3 avatars – playing twin brothers Satya Maan Azaad, Jay Chand Azaad and their father Vijay Singh Azaad. Divya Khosla Kumar stars as Satya’s politician-wife Vidya.
When farmer-leader Vijay Singh Azaad dies tragically while trying to overthrow corruption, the fight against injustice is down to his twin sons. Satya is an honest Home Minster trying to continue his father’s legacy by passing the Anti-Corruption bill. While Satya tries to sway things in his favour in the assembly, his cop-brother Jay is busy meting out justice in the streets against hooligans.
Frustrated with the system’s inefficiency at tackling problems, one among these twin brothers (we ain’t spoiling who) decides to take matters into his own hands. The vigilante then goes on a killing spree, punishing wrong-doers in a manner equivalent in brutality to their crimes.
While the vigilante is hailed as a hero, Chief Minister Chandra Prakash (who is also Vidya’s father – played by Harsh Chhaya ) isn’t pleased and Jay is the policeman tasked with finding the serial killer. Rude shocks, unexpected betrayals and engaging fights then lie in store ahead…
As they try to beat the system in their own way, the enthralling conflict between the two brothers’ ideologies is what keeps the audience on edge in Satyamev Jayate 2.
What Do We Think?
Satyameva Jayate 2 is a patriotic, vigilante drama; Milap Zaveri’s ode to 80s style masala-action storytelling! Tackling various issues from corruption, blatant misuse of power, farmers’ issues to islamophobia, the movie also strongly preaches the message of communal harmony.
John Abraham nails his multiple roles as a ruthless killer, buffed-up cop and nationalistic farmer. The action scenes are seeti-worthy, flaunting his uber-cool muscled body while he breaks tables with his bare hands and lifts bikes with Herculean ease. And powerful one-liners will have the audience clapping enthusiastically!
Divya Khosla Kumar gives a decent performance as his strong, supportive, quietly fierce wife. Not just action, there is quite some hilarity and romance added to the mix. Given that John is playing twins – ‘mistaken identity’ comic relief scenes are bound to ensue.
The movie is quite fast-paced in the first half but loses its steam briefly after the interval. An intense, satisfying fight in the finale manages to retain the audiences’ attention though.

Music Box:
Nora Fatehi is to a John Abraham film what cheese is to pizza. The glamorous gal shows off her sizzling moves in the Kusu Kusu song which is already ruling the charts as fan-favourite.
Jann Gann Mann is a touching patriotic anthem that gets brownie points from us.
