The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, is celebrating his 56th birthday today and it’s always a grand celebration.
All of us Bollywood fanatics know King Khan has a very impressive filmography but check out these 4 films SRK rejected that eventually went to Aamir Khan!
1. Lagaan
Lagaan is one of Aamir Khan’s most popular films and the actor himself rejected this twice before finally approving the last script. Before Aamir, the film was offered to Shah Rukh who rejected it for reasons unknown. Lagaan is also the last Indian film that was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.
2. 3 Idiots
When we talk about Aamir Khan, 3 Idiots is probably the first film to peak into our minds. But this film too was first taken to SRK who had to reject it as his dates clashed. “Shah Rukh was offered ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’, ‘Munnabhai’ and other films. He is our first guy; we go to him first, and if he says no, we move on,” producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, as per a report.
3. Rang De Basanti
This film too was offered to Shah Rukh but the interesting thing is that it wasn’t for Aamir’s role. Shah Rukh was offered to play the character Flight Lt. Ajay Rathod which after he rejected, went to R Madhavan. Apparently, the rejection happened because SRK did not want to be second in lead after Aamir.
4. Talaash
Inspector Shekhawat is one of Aamir Khan’s most intense roles with him playing a cop who tries to solve the death of an actor. Shah Rukh was offered this role before Aamir but the actor had to reject the film as he wasn’t too keen on doing a suspense-thriller genre.
