The most awaited award show, Oscars 2022 has begun the selection process for India’s official entry in the Best International Feature Film category.
A total of 14 Indian films has been selected so far which includes 2 of Bollywood‘s most loved movies.
As per reports, Vidya Balan’s Sherni and Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham were selected as official entries for the 94th Academy Awards. Both these movies are available on Amazon Prime.
In Amit Masurkar’s directorial, Sherni, Vidya Balan plays the role of a forest officer who is trying to resolve animal-human conflicts. The movie revolves around her married life in the midst of her unusual job. The movie also stars Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala and Neeraj Kabi.
While on the other hand, Vicky Kaushal plays the role of Sardar Udham Singh in Shoojit Sircar‘s directorial ‘Sardar Udham’. The movie revolves around Sardar Udham who was a patriotic man and fought fearlessly and selflessly against the British. The film’s plot revolves around the assassination of Michael O’Dwyer, the lieutenant governor of Punjab at the time of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. The movie also stars Shaun Scott, Stephen Hogan, Banita Sandhu, Kirsty Averton, and Amol Parashar.
Oscars 2022 will be held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California on March 27, 2022.
