Bhushan Kumar, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta will be producing it. Set in the 1980s, Bull is based on the real-life events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara. He led Operation Cactus in 1988 in the Maldives.
What Was Operation Cactus?
In 1988, a Maldivian group under businessman Abdullah Luthufi attempted a coup to overthrow the Maldives government. They were assisted by armed mercenaries of the People’s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam, which was a Sri Lankan Tamil secessionist organization.
Under the leadership of Brigadier Bulsara in Operation Cactus, Indian Armed Forces helped Maldivian forces take back control.
Talking about his role, Shahid told the media – “It is a privilege to play a paratrooper who leads his boys through a historic and selfless mission that has become iconic for its precision and bravado. The opportunity to play a paratrooper is exhilarating and truly an honor.”
Bull will go on floors in early 2022.
