Storyline

Joginder ‘Jaggi’ Dhillon (Sunny Kaushal) gatecrashes a big studded wedding with friends not knowing that the groom and bride will soon play an important role in his life. Gautam (Mohit Raina) and Ira (Diana Penty) soon throw out the gatecrashers and this is just the beginning of a whirlwind romance. A couple of years later, illegal immigrant Jaggi is travelling all the way to London in search of his romance’s happy ending. However, his lady love, Kartika (Radhika Madan) is a little too out of reach.

The immigrants get caught and Jaggi is one of them. His blinded vision for love makes him continue his journey and soon, as though it is all fate, he runs into Gautam. Gautam and his wife Ira show signs of marital struggle, both of them coming from extremely different professions and thoughts. Jaggi’s determination in finding his way to Kartika pushes the other couple to give each other another shot at love.

What we think?

Sunny Kaushal as Jaggi is by far one of the best romantic performances we’ve seen in a long time. Sunny has paved his way in our hearts as a heartthrob and we’re all about his love. Not a dull moment goes by when Kaushal is on screen and that’s definitely his specialty. Next we have the stunning Radhika Madan whose breathtaking smile can light up your screens in a second. The actress’s performance wouldn’t be one of her bests but we would have loved to see more from her.

Mohit Raina and Diana Penty have the sweetest chemistry on-screen and it was very visible. The energy these two performers give is unmatchable and we love it. Mohit has his raw masculine aura on point and Diana gives his character the perfect gentle touch.

Hit or Miss?

We say this film is definitely a HIT. Although a lot could’ve been a little more relatable with the realism, our imagination of what a romance can look like was challenged and we liked that. Shiddat isn’t your normal film, it’s a once in a bluemoon romance, one we only wish would be true.
