Koi Mil Gaya actor Rajat Bedi had hit the headlines recently for some troubling news.
He was entangled in a car accident case after knocking down the 40-year old Rajesh Boudh near Andheri.
The victim was on his way home and was said to be in a drunk condition. He suddenly came in front of the car and was hit before the actor could apply the brakes.
Rajat had admitted the victim to Cooper Hospital and updated the D N Nagar Police station about the incident. The Police had registered an FIR against the actor under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).
However, as per recent reports, the victim has succumbed to his injuries! The police have now added IPC section 304-A (Causing death by negligence) to the FIR against Rajat Bedi.
As per Free Press Journal report, Senior inspector Milind Kurde said, “We will investigate the matter and action will be initiated only after the probe is over. Until then no arrests will be made.”
The report further said that police sources claimed that prima facie it seemed to be the (drunk) victim Rajesh Boudh’s fault.
In a statement to Pinkvilla, Rajat Bedi’s manager had stated – “The guy was drunk, and suddenly came from somewhere. Rajat wasn’t driving rashly. He immediately took him to Cooper Hospital and got his treatment done. They were not getting blood, so Rajat arranged for that too, and was in the hospital till 12: 30 – 1. He had himself informed the police too.”
