THROWBACK: When Akshay Kumar Had Reportedly Offered To Return HALF His Movie FEE To Ekta Kapoor!

The talented Akshay Kumar celebrates his 54th birthday today.

Fondly called ‘Khiladi Kumar’, Akshay is one of the biggest Bollywood superstars. Be it commercial masala flicks or socially relevant movies, the actor aces every genre.

On the occasion of his birthday, we have a fun throwback for you! Akshay played the gangster Shoaib Khan in ‘Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!’ which was backed by Ekta Kapoor.

While the film had failed to perform at the box office, Akshay had reportedly offered to return back half his fees to Ekta to make up for the loss.

A source had revealed to DNA“Akshay, who is currently shooting in Bangkok, called her and graciously offered to return half of his remuneration to cover up for the losses she incurred over Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara. Ekta was touched with his offer but declined, saying she didn’t want money back but she wanted to do another film with him.

Isn’t that something? 

Akshay continues to have a  jam-packed line-up of movies ahead of him, despite the pandemic. Last seen in Bell Bottom, he’s currently shooting for Mission Cinderella (Ratsasan remake). He also has Atrangi Re, Raksha Bandhan, Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi, Prithviraj and Ram Setu.

On the personal front, Akshay faced a terrible loss on the eve of his birthday as his mother Aruna Bhatia passed away on 8th September 2021. May she rest in peace!
