Emraan Hashmi is receiving positive responses for his praise-worthy act in his recently released movie ‘Chehre’.
The actor will next be seen in the Hindi remake of the 2017 Malayalam horror film ‘Ezra’.
Directed by Jay Krishnan, who helmed the original as well, we hear that the supernatural horror remake has apparently been titled- ‘Dybbuk’. As per the latest buzz, the movie will reportedly have a direct-to-digital release.
According to TOI, the makers have supposedly sold the movie rights to an OTT giant for a whopping amount of Rs 36 CRORES! The movie is expected to be released this year.
The report further suggests that the makers had initially opted for a theatrical release. However, given the current pandemic situation, they chose to have an OTT release in order to maximize their returns.
The movie went on floors in 2019 and has been shot in Mumbai and Mauritius.
The story revolves around an antique Jewish box purchased by a newlywed woman, after which the couple faces paranormal activities. The original movie starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priya Anand in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, Emraan has earlier worked in horror films like- ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’, ‘Raaz Reboot’, ‘Ek Thi Daayan’ and more.
