As per India.com article, it appears that renowned filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker was keen to cast Sara Ali Khan opposite Arjun Kapoor in ‘Panipat’. He had been impressed with her screen presence in Kedarnath.
However, things didn’t materialise and Kriti Sanon ended up starring in the period drama.
