Nargis Fakhri made her big-ticket Bollywood debut in Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Rockstar’, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, in 2011.
The actress also featured in films like ‘Madras Cafe’, ‘Houseful 3’, ‘Azhar’ & more.
The American-born actress, who has been in the Hindi film industry for almost a decade now, never shied away from voicing her opinion. In a throwback interview, which has been doing rounds on social media lately, the ‘Main Tera Hero’ actress spilled beans on the struggles and hurdles that she had faced in her career.
During a conversation with an ex-pornstar Britney De La Mora on her YouTube channel called XXXchurch, Nargis had revealed that she wasn’t really hungry for fame. She added that and lost many jobs in Bollywood because she didn’t ‘pose naked or sleep with a director’.
Nargis said, “What am I hungry for? I’m not hungry for fame, that I am gonna do things like posing naked or do certain things or sleep with a director. I’ve lost jobs because I didn’t do certain things and that was heart-breaking. I’m trying to live where I have high standards and boundaries and it sucks because I got kicked out more than once. That hurt but I kept telling myself ‘people with values will win your own way, maybe it’s not just that way’ and that’s what I held on to. Be true to yourself and don’t let anyone convince me of anything else. There’s nothing more than my morals and values.”
The 41-year-old actress also revealed how she had rejected a modelling opportunity from ‘Playboy’ magazine despite being offered a huge sum. She said that it was a nude shoot and she wasn’t comfortable doing that.
“When I was modelling, there was this college edition Playboy magazine thing. My agent said they are asking for girls, they have chosen to see you if you would want to do something like that. I was like Playboy is so huge and the money was so much! But I said no,” she concluded.
Nargis Fakhri was last seen in ‘Torbaaz’, starring Sanjay Dutt in the lead.
