Sidharth Malhotra was initially slated to play the lead in the Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Thadam’.
However, Sidharth had opted out of the action thriller owing to script issues.
Handsome hunk Aditya Roy Kapur – who has made quite a name for himself as an action star after ‘Malang’, will be replacing Sidharth in the adaptation. Officially confirming the news, Aditya said he’s elated to play a DOUBLE role for the first time!
Mrunal Thakur has allegedly been cast as the female lead. However, as per reports, she will NOT be playing the love interest but the role of a cop in the movie.
Thadam‘s Hindi remake will be helmed by debutant Vardhan Ketkar and co-produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. The project will go on floors in September this year.
Synopsis of original movie reads – “During the investigation of a man’s murder, the police find two probable suspects, who look alike but do not know each other. However, the case gets complicated when new facts get unravelled.”
Aditya Roy Kapur also has ‘Om: The Battle Within’ co-starring Sanjana Sanghi.
