Recently, the managing director of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, was accused of an alleged sexual exploitation case.
However, T-Series’s official statement called the allegations ‘false’ and ‘malicious’ and said that the conspiracy was the result of a failed attempt to extort money.
TOI reported that Mallikarjun Pujari, a local political leader from Thane, had conspired with a female model (who has done a cameo in a film) to extort money from Bhushan Kumar.
In June 2021, the politician had allegedly threatened Bhushan Kumar with a false complaint of sexual harassment if he wasn’t paid the extortion amount. On 1st July 2021, T-Series then filed a complaint against Mallikarjun Pujari in Amboli Police station.
Moreover, Krishan Kumar of T-Series had also managed to record the extortion demands when he went to meet Mallikarjun at the hotel ‘The Regenza by Tunga’ on 5th July 2021. Pujari had shown him Whatsapp messages that didn’t belong to either Bhushan or anyone from T-Series and threatened that a girl would use them to file a police case if a huge sum of money wasn’t paid.
However, Krishan told the politician that T-Series and Bhushan would not give in to extortion. Mallikarjun also kept calling Krishan after that, but since they did not yield, on 15th July, an alleged rape case was filed against Bhushan Kumar.
A police official confirmed to TOI – “Complainant Krishan Kumar has stated that between July 3 and 10, one Mallikarjun Pujari falsely accused his nephew Bhushan Kumar of raping a girl. The girl blackmailed the complainant by demanding money for not reporting the rape to the police and threatened defamation in the media as well. Furthermore, the girl’s friend has threatened to kill Bhushan Kumar which is why the complainant has lodged a complaint against Mallikarjun Pujari. An offence has been registered under Sections 386, 500, 506, 506 (2) of the IPC in Amboli Police Station, Mumbai.”
