Films like ‘Go Goa Gone’, ‘Stree’ and ‘Roohi’ have really opened up the exploration of the horror-comedy genre in Bollywood.
As per the latest buzz, even Sonakshi Sinha will be trying her hand at horror-comedy with her next movie – titled ‘KAKUDA’.
If this Peeping Moon report is to be believed, then the Kalank actress will be playing a ghost hunter in Kakuda. Backed by Ronnie Screwvala, this project will be helmed by Marathi director Aditya Sarpotdar (of Classmates and Mauli fame).
The portal further added that the film is allegedly inspired by a true incident. Riteish Deshmukh and Race 3 actor Saqib Saleem have also joined the cast. Saqib will apparently be romancing Sonakshi. Kakuda will commence shooting from 16th July in Mandawa, Rajasthan and have a 40-day, start-to-finish schedule.
In the meanwhile, Sonakshi will next be seen in ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ which will have direct-to-OTT premiere on August 13 on Disney+Hotstar. She will also be making her digital debut with Reema Kagti’s ‘Fallen’ series on Amazon Prime. Her line-up includes the Netflix film ‘Bulbul Tarang’ too.
