A Vinil Mathew directorial, Haseen Dillruba is all set to hit your screens at home on Netflix on the 2nd of July!
The film stars Vikrant Massey, Taapsee Pannu and Harshvardhan Rane, with whom Instant Bollywood had an exclusive chat to get scoop on the film!
Inquisitive about Harshvardhan’s perfection of his character, we asked him details on portraying “Neel’s” likeable nature & raw aggression.
He says, “I think 5 or 6 years ago I was mistaken to think I have dealt with my aggression. But then it came to me that it never leaves you completely and that it is always around somewhere. You just don’t use it. It is always nice to tap in there and use it for movies like these. Our director, Vinil sir, had made it very easy for me by breaking it down. My character is very impulsive, he takes decisions and doesn’t go back on them. Then the consequesces are in his hands. This happens in life too and my character was justified like that.”
We then asked the cast what attracted them the most to the script. Starting off, Taapsee assures us it’s the genre. “Since the film is a romantic thriller, it was the genre that had attracted me to it. Then it was the story. So half the job was done by the genre itself which is my favourite genre to watch,” she says.
Vikrant adds to this as he mentions, “I read the script and wanted to be a part of this for multiple reasons. The story really enticed me. As an actor, there were so many challenges for this character that I really wanted to take it up. I wanted to play a part that I have never done before. Very seldom do I get such parts because people don’t perceive me to be that way or be able to pull that off.“
Lastly, Harsh has more to say about his co-stars! “I remember, I used to always hang out with the toppers. My marks aren’t even close to theirs, I got in the 30s or 40s. But I used to always hang out with the toppers of my school, including engineers from my colony and they gave me a lot of love. So this childhood urge of mine is this film too because I’ve worked with these two toppers (Taapsee and Vikrant). They’re both so subtly ambitious and they have always proved others wrong by doing what people think they can’t do.”
