On Sunday morning, the veteran actor Dilip Kumar was hospitalized after complaining of breathlessness.
The 98-year-old actor has been admitted to Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai.
Later, informing about his ill health, a Tweet was also posted from the yesteryear actor’s official Twitter handle.
Now, as per the latest ETimes report, Dilip Kumar has been diagnosed with Bilateral Pleural Effusion. He has also been put on oxygen support, however, he is NOT in ICU.
For the uninitiated, it’s a condition that is caused by the build-up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura outside the lungs. ‘Pleural effusion’ is also referred to as ‘water on the lungs’.
Talking to the leading daily, pulmonologist Dr. Parkar said, “Mr. Dilip Kumar has been put on oxygen support. He has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion along with a drop in oxygen saturation”. “But he is stable and not in the ICU. If all goes well, he may be discharged in 2-3 days,” he added.
There have a lot of rumours going around on Dilip Kumar’s health. To put an end to such false reports, a tweet has been posted from the actor’s official Twitter page, that says, “Don’t believe in WhatsApp forwards. Saab is stable. Thank you for your heartfelt duas and prayers. As per doctors, he should be home in 2-3 days. Insh’Allah.”
