‘Don’t have daddy, mommy helping me’: Shruti Haasan on paying her own bills

Actress Shruti Haasan is the daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sagarika.

Despite being a celebrity child, Shruti likes to be independent and work through her own struggles.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the actress opened up about her financial constraints during coronavirus pandemic and how the lockdown affected her. Shruti also talked about how she’s working as an independent woman and has to return to work amid a health scare as she can’t “hide out and wait for the pandemic to end”.

The actress told Hindustan Times, “Being on set without a mask is very scary. I’m not going to lie. But we’ve to get back to work because I have financial constraints, just like anybody else. When they’re ready to shoot, I’ve to go out there as I also have shoot to complete and other professional commitments that I need to finish.”

Star kid, Shruti says, “I have my limitations. I don’t have my daddy or mommy helping me”.

The 35 year old actress moved out of her father’s house 11 years ago and she has made every decision, good or bad, by herself.

There were some really smart people who didn’t buy any big things like a car or a house before the pandemic, but I bought a house just before this all started, and I was like, ‘God damn it’. So, yes I have basic financial constraints,” Shruti said.

However, the pandemic has made the actor realize her privileges as she says many don’t even have money for food and medicines. “It just puts everything in perspective,” the actor says.

Shruti, who has also tried her hands at singing, says that people make different amounts of money, but everyone has to pay bills and that’s why she “will have to get back at work”.

Shruti was working on a web series and an upcoming film, ‘Salaar‘ before the country went into a shutdown due to the second wave of COVID-19.
