We all know why Shah Rukh Khan is called the King of romance and the actor never fails to remind us with every movie.
There happens to be one more King in the industry, our maestro director David Dhawan, known as the King of comedy.
The two senior members of Bollywood had a couple of chances to collaborate and come up with what we imagine would have been the ultimate romance-comedy. Nevertheless, it never happened and here is why.
As per a report, King Khan had rejected David Dhawan’s films not just once but twice! The first time, Dhawan had approached SRK with the film ‘Deewana Mastana’ first before going to the later on chosen actor – Govinda, who played the role of Bunnu. The report also reveals that Khan had apparently liked the concept and was almost on board but he had to back out before matters got finalised. The reasons stay unknown.
The second time, David Dhawan advanced towards SRK with another film titled ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu’. Shah Rukh Khan was Dhawan’s first choice to play the lead of the extremely funny movie but he ended up rejecting this as well. The reason reportedly being that the two of them did not like each other’s working style. However, one man’s loss is another man’s treasure. Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu ended up being comedian Kapil Sharma’s debut film.
Kapil Sharma, the man who makes the nation hysterical through his show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, bagged the role and acted in the film along with Elli Avram, Varun Sharma, Simran Kaur Mundi, Manjari Phadnis and Sai Lokur.
