For the movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, actress Waheeda Rehman was the initial choice to play the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s mother. However, her husband had passed away at the time which made it impossible for her to carry on with the shoot. That is when late actress Achala Sachdev got roped in for the role.
