Shahid Kapoor’s much-awaited movie Jersey is scheduled to hit theatres on November 5, 2021.
This sports drama also features Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles.
Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey is a Hindi remake of 2019’s Telugu hit of the same name. While Gowtam Tinnauri directed both the movies, the Telugu original featured Nani and Shraddha Srinath as the lead.
Many of you didn’t know that not Mrunal, but Rashmika Mandanna was the first choice for the female lead in the Shahid Kapoor starrer. But she apparently rejected the role, and the Super 30 actress eventually bagged the female lead.
Curious to know why Rashmika did this? Well, as Bollywood Life reported, she reportedly felt that she wouldn’t be able to do justice to the role portrayed by Shraddha in the Telugu original.
Meanwhile, Rashmika is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Siddharth Malhotra in Mission Majnu. She will also be seen in Goodbye, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan & Thappad fame Pavail Gulati.
