Sunidhi Chauhan entered Bollywood as a playback singer two decades ago and is one of our all-time favorites.
Recently, Sunidhi spoke in an interview about how a music director rejected her for a reason that you can’t imagine.

A music director told Sunidhi that she won’t survive in the industry with her voice because her voice sounds like a ‘male voice’.

Sunidhi told Bollywood Bubble, “In the initial stage of my career, I did face prejudices. I have heard things like pack your bags and go home because you cannot sing ‘Lag Jaa Gale’ in the original key. He questioned my preparedness. He was a very big music director but thanks to him because then I went home and practiced. Then, there was another music director who said that this kind of voice is not going to work. I was told that I have too strong a voice, it sounds like a man’s voice on an actress. So, pack your bags, you won’t survive here.”
“That happened but I am only thankful for those comments because they made me a stronger person. But today, they have memory loss. For them, such things never happened,” Sunidhi concluded.
