Be it Raazi, Paatal Lok or Khaali Peeli, Jaideep Ahlawat always plays quite the intense and broody characters.
Jaideep will next be seen in the Netflix anthology ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’, in Shashank Khaitan’s short ‘Majnu’, co-starring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Armaan Ralhan.
Majnu is all about a couple (Jaideep-Fatima) who are stuck in an unhappy marriage, and then ENTERS the 3rd guy in the equation (Armaan)! This is the 1st time that Jaideep’s ventured into the love stories space.
“I am grateful Shashank [Khaitan, director] thought of me for this character. Considering the way he narrated Bablu bhaiya’s [his character] complexities, I was keen to try my hand at the role. [That said], I was fearful whether I would be able to tell the story the way he intended,” comments Ahlawat to Midday.
He also has a special request for directors – he wants to explore roles that will show off his DANCING SKILLS! That’s right!
“I would love to play a romantic hero. I want to tell everyone that I am a dancer as well. I might not be one of the finest dancers around, but I can catch the beat, and have done several stage shows in my college days. I want [filmmakers] to write a script [that helps me explore the art].”
Talking about the success of Paatal Lok, Jaideep said – “I want to explore different roles, otherwise, the audience and I will get bored. I must say, I am amazed to read the kind of scripts that have come my way, post the series.”
He also shared that the 2nd season of Paatal Lok would resume shooting after things returned to normalcy.
